Hey everybody, I decided I should write for once and give everyone an update. I have lots of pictures too! haha, I'll put the link on the bottom. So yeah, California was pretty cool, I met lots of nice people, lots of firefighters... hehehehe... I saw an owl swoop on a mouse when I was crouched down about 5 feet away so it was more or less right at my eye level. It was freaking awesome. I also got dive bombed, twice, by a goshawk, and they will actually hurt you, she was gearing up towards it, she kept going in closer and closer trees. I decided at that point that the best thing to do would be to run for it, which I did, down a rather steep slope. It was great!
So yeah, I don't know how many people, sides John, Crable, Scott, and Mari are near Massachussetts, but I am planning on probably going to Boston and New York in August before classes start, so anyone else who is close, let me know!! I really want to see lots of people before I have tons of work to do and can't go anywhere fun.
On another cool note, odds are I will get to go to the Galapagos for 10 days during Christmas break! How great is that!? It's for the intro bio class so I would probably co-TA, but it would be so much fun. I guess it's not set in stone that it is going to happen, but that would be awesome.

So.... how do I let a guy down easy? Especially since I think I acted like I liked him (and more or less told him) even though I think I was kinda deluding myself since... I have to face it... I was kind of lonely... and hadn't dated/gotten any for a ridiculously long time... so yeah... need help.
I also miss all you guys!!!
edit... i also can't seem to tell him I don't want to see him... so I just keep putting off when we are going to see each other again. I don't know if I can pull that off for another month and half....

09:35 pm - real post-ish
So I leave for Australia on Sept 20. It kind of snuck up on me since I first learned about it last summer, then said definitely around january some time. Now its in like 3 weeks. and I'm nervous as hell about it. I can't come home and visit like I did when I was at Cape Cod. and I'm going on some tours by myself. and there are a few days inbetween that I have to find places to sleep. by myself. I'm getting a little stressed out. and i have to apply to grad schools, find professors, email the professors, try to convince them to sponsor me or I wont get any funding whatsoever. So far Ive emailed four professors, two of which never emailed me back... stupid professors. and i have to write this stupid statement of purpose... i hate it. and who knows, i may not get in anywhere anyway. im sure it will be fun...

Here are some more beach pictures. some seal and horned lark nests pictures. though you cant really tell those are seals, they were too far away. Some of the pictures are a little blurry, my camera is supposed to auto focus, but that doesnt always work... All the ones that are rocks are really Can you find the oystercatcher chick? pictures. Ill give you a hint, its small, gray, fuzzy, and looks like a rock. :P.

01:06 am - internship
while i am woefully behind in applying for summer internships, i am OFFICIALLY going to Australia in the Fall for an internship!!!!!! unfortunately i have to pay for airfare, live in a trailer, but its australia!!!!!! so its all worth it. oh, and it deals with birds... so fun stuff. hopefully ill do something that will be paid this summer but it is unlikely, oh well... thats the most exciting thing in my life... while it is exciting, this semester is boring as hell... and a little lonely oh well.
oh, and with the guy, i dont know, i havent called him. im just not a kind of person that usually thinks of stuff to do and calls to make plans. its just so much easier to not do anything. o hwell. how is everybody else?

11:06 pm - just so you know im not dead...
haha, so I havent posted in a long time... a very long time if you dont count the drunk posts... haha. things are stressful, i have to turn in my honors thesis tomorrow so I dont plan on sleeping today as I (of course) procrastinated like nuts. two exams next week physics, which i hate, and in my fish class. Which of course means genetics is coming up soon.
in other news, despite cold, snow, and 0.4 degrees C water, I spent two hours in a stream collecting fish, doing transects, and other stuff. it was fun. though my hands got freezing since I kept having to untangle the shocker cord. yes, there was shocking of fish. no mortalities though. we also found several frogs, and a salamander, called a mud puppy i think someone said.
i also, randomly, went out on a date with a guy last week. apparently we met cuz i fell into him on the bus when i was drunk. i do not remember this. oh well. he seems interesting, we have some of the same interests, hiking, back packing, spending time outdoors, stuff like that, but, I hate to sound shallow, but hes shorter than me. like enough that when we are standing i have to look down to talk to him. its kind of weird. hes also a bit of a hippie i think, long (red) hair. oh, and i now have very short hair. i mean very short. i guess i should put up a pic. i dont know if i know how to do that... i shall try. haha, so since i went through all this effort to tell you people the very fascinating details of my life, I EXPECT COMMENTS!!! actually, i forgot, i dont have a USB cable with me so picture will have to wait. ah well, i miss all of you guys. if anyone is in michigan come visit!

i think no sleep last night was a bad plan. i have dark circles under my eyes, a little pale, and my lips are this weird dark red/purple cuz they are chapped. yeah, i look stoned... now off to my meeting...
